Ask Palat

What is your design motto?

Do what is best for my client, not for the sake of the designer. After all they are the ones who will be living in the space we co-create. So leave your ego behind.

To blend in  great functionality with fantasy, with romance, with history and with the future

To wake up in the morning and do a job that doesn’t feel like work! And to be able to give back to the people around me.

What is your most treasured possession?

I don’t hold on to anything. We only borrow them for a short time when we are alive. At the end, we can not take anything with us. We were born alone and we will leave this world as we come. That said, We can leave the world with our goodness, humor and kindness. So don’t take life to ducking seriously!

To have the clarity and consciousness of thought at all times. Owning your mind is the hardest yet most satisfying thing anyone can do.

When it comes to decorating “rules”: Is there such a thing and if so, is there a rule you always break?

This is a very good question. Besides function that always come first for me. Artists tend to do things with their instincts. If there was a rule in place, that would be “There is no rule to do anything, just be fun, be bold!” So I probably break all rules within that rule already

Be 100% functional and personalized to all the owner’s need. House needs to be fit and reflect the way owner like to live in.
